In light of this, the spokesperson for the Nigerian Police Force, Emmanuel Ojukwu has warned citizens against committing electoral offences.
Here’s a list of 15 electoral offences that could lead to your arrest:
- Impeding of electorates from voting
- Declaring of false election result
- Casting of votes twice or more
- Revealing another voters ballot paper information
- Being in possession of another person’s voter card
- Misconduct at polling units.
- Canvassing for votes.
- Promoting slogans of a political party.
- Carrying guns, sticks, stones or other dangerous weapons at polling units.
- Loitering at a polling unit.
- The use of siren.
- Snatching or destroying ballot boxes or card readers.
- Holding public meetings during election hours on Election Day,
- Wearing or carrying badge or poster of a political party.
- Threatening to inflict injury on any person or persons at a polling unit.
